1/22/24: Agua Verde

Hola mis queridos amigos, ¿qué tal? I am doing great. This week was packed, but I'm gonna try to keep it short. (Says every missionary ever).

First off, the good. We had some baptisms this week. Originally we just had one planned for our buddy Christian, but then his cousin, Daniel, came up to us the night before the baptism and said he wanted to be baptized the next day with Christian. So we called our DL and he made a make-shift baptismal interview work. When I say these guys were ready for baptism, I mean it. They've been coming to church for 3 and half months and have yet to miss a day of early morning seminary, according to our Branch President (their teacher). I'm super excited to watch these guys progress in the church and help their family and friends out too.

Next up, the bad. This week we have been living without power in our apartment. The company cut our power tuesday morning and we've been without it since. There are a whole host of reasons why we don't have power, but basically it comes down to our landlord not sending us a receipt for our last payment, so we couldn't get reimbursed from our offices to have enough money to pay for this months power. So yes, no cooking, no light, no nothin. But it's been a good time. My comp and I have had some good laughs about it.

And last, the ugly. If you've been following my google photos, you'll have seen what our wonderful font looked like before Elder Flandes and I cleaned it. Long story short, it was green, very green. Apparently the drain broke and it couldn't be drained until it got fixed this week. So there was lots of scrubbing, chlorine, vinegar and soap. But, after our laborious efforts, our font is officially good as new and was ready for the baptism!

Anyway, those were probably the 3 biggest things of the week, if I add anymore events this email would probably be annoyingly long, so I won't. But I will do a scripture of the week cuz Jesus is important.

Scripture of the week is Helaman 5:6. It's a fun scripture cuz it says the word "remember" 6 times. Remembering is important, especially remembering our Savior and His sacrifice for us. That's why we take the sacrament each week! Go to church. I tell way too many people that here, and I'm gonna tell you guys too. We as humans sin when we forget about Christ and God and the covenants we have/could make with Them. Remember remember.

Anyway, thanks for reading if you did! ¡Hasta luego!
