5/27/24: Cintalapa Round 4
Hey all! I hope everyone is doing well. A very long week has passed, but it was a good one!
For starters, we had transfers (aka the most exciting days and moments of a missionaries life), and as the title clearly states... I'm staying in Cintalapa for a 4th transfer! (Meaning I'll be here for a total of at least 6 months) My comp stayed with me, and the other two missionaries in Cintalapa also stayed the same. Not what was expected... but we'll take it!
Other big news was we had our last baptism of last transfer. It was with a 15 year old kid named Fernando, he started coming to church when his aunt and sister got baptized back in the beginning of April. We helped him make the steps to start following Christ by covenant! We had the baptism the last possible day of the transfer, capping us off at 12 baptisms for the 6 week period. Which is pretty good, but I still got a lot to go if I'm trying to be like Alma...
Other success we saw in the week was helping our friend Adriana move forward in her progress with God and set a goal for when she could get baptized. She's super cool, she got really excited when we brought up that idea. She also gives us a lot of food (that's the tell-tale sign if they're elect)
Other than that, just a lot of finding (or trying to at least), teaching, door knocking and other missionary work stuff. Good times. (It's also still pretty dang hot)
The Scripture of the Week is a great one I love to use in teaching, Alma 42:4, it says:
"And thus we see, that there was a time granted unto man to repent, yea, a probationary time, a time to repent and serve God"
I love this one and another one like it in Alma 34, because it describes our purpose here in life. It's important to remember and never forget that repentance is always a need. We are always falling short in the goals we have set before us by God, but through Christ and fulfilling our purpose by repenting with His help, we can do it.
Pues eso es todos! Muchas gracias por leer! (si lo hicieron...) Y Adios y que tengan una buena semana! See ya!
