2/12/24: Perros Vecinos
Hola mis amorosos y marvillosos projimos. I hope we are all doing well. This week was cool cuz we did a lot of surprisingly successful finding. Usually when we knock on doors the fruits are few and far between, but this week we were blessed with being able to find the right houses and people.
A cool story of the week (a classic-type story that you've all probably heard from other missionaries) was the first door we knocked on friday we were let into. We started by asking how their day is and a quick introduction of ourselves. The dad of the family, who was home on a rare day off from his work, told us that he was baptized in the church at 8, but fell away after his dad died. He's been away for over 14 years due to various circumstances, but is excited to talk to us more and respark some of his good memories in the church as a child and youth and introduce his family to us!
The cool part of the story is that it was the first door we knocked on for the day and the slimness of the chance that we had to meet the dad (milagros).
We also have some good references coming in from a few of the members, and have a lovely older couple, Fidel and Carmita, we're hoping to put on date this week.
The title from the week comes from the little dogs we have that live next to our house. There's two and they actually are the worst, but they're kinda fun to play with through the fence. See my google photos for the videos if you want. We fed them a sausage to try to be friends, but they only wanted the sausage :(
Scripture of the week is gonna be Helaman 14:30-31, agency is cool, but what's even cooler is using your angency for good, unlike the Nephites in this time of the Book of Mormon. Don't be like them. Think of your actions and who and how they'll impact, then compare it to the life of Christ and what he would do. In following the words of one of my MTC teachers, "hit 'em with the WWJD and boom, baptism" (that's not how it works, it was a joke). But, to sum up, we have agency. Use it wisely.
Anyway, that's all I'll drop down for this week. Thanks for reading if you do, and adioooosss
