4/1/24:Arresto Domiciliario

Another week has happened and I am still a missionary. Woohoo! Idk about, but life is great. For those of you who are wondering, the mission is really good at teaching you how to be happy regardless of circumstances.

Now you're probably wondering, "oh no, what happened, he's talking about being happy in bad situations", and your thoughts are correct. Basically, some of the local cartels thought it would be fun to burn some buses down, do some terroristy things and set up a couple roadblocks nearby Cintalapa and neighboring cities (and actually took one over for a few days).

But don't worry, we're all good. Nothing wild happened directly in Cintalapa, just like every other city/large road nearby. We had a curfew set for the week that said we had to be in the house by 7 pm each day, which is kinda sad cuz that's when a lot of good work happens. We also couldn't knock doors, street contact or "hang out" in the street for more than we had to, so you can imagine it was pretty weird. (Seeing as "hanging out" in the street is about 75% of missionary work).

We also could only do the lessons we had planned for the week and contact people we were familiar with too, so finding was relatively dry for the week. Despite all this tho, the work is still hauling here. We managed to find 8 new people this week through family/friends of people in teaching and we put 3 baptismal dates too. We also have 2 families progressing way well (one has  come to church TWICE, ifykyk) and more success on the way!

So basically, all we need to do is not be bums, do good things, and not mess up God's work here in the area. Just be an instrument, if you will. (Alma 29:9)

Bringing me to the Scripture of the Week.
Luke 24:6-8:
6 He is not here, but is risenremember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered his words

It's Easter! (La Pascua) And it's been our time to really focus on and learn about the resurrection of Christ. But the important part is, don't stop focusing on Him. Like the disciples of Christ, we too need to remember His sacrifice and what He had given us to do so. Because He is risen, we have the ability to resurrect one day too, and recieve the everlasting joy promised to us by God's Plan of Salvation. Christ lives and He loves us, God's plan is perfect. Study it, know it, and don't forget to keep learning about it.

Anyway, that's the week! I hope yours was filled with the Light of Christ too! ¡Adios!
