5/20/24: Extrano Lluvia

Hello to all, this one'll be shorter.

This week was fun cuz we had 2 baptisms and went to the temple with thr branch. We had 10 recent converts come! It's awesome to see the progression of the people I've been so blessed to teach.

One baptism was from the Jiquipilas area (the other area we made after we recieved 2 more missionaries for Cintalapa). It was with a super cool guy named Felipe and his daughter, Kimy. They were people my comp and I actually "found" (meaning we had the first lesson with him), but he had already heard a lot about the church. He's the brother of the Elders Quorum president in the branch, and really wanted to get baptized with his kids, so we (and mostly the other Elders ofc) helped him accomplish his goal. It was cool.

We also had a baptism for our area, with a young woman named Luna. She learned about the church through her grandma and started coming a few months back, but wasn't so sure about baptism at first. After much teaching, she's gained a testimony and proceeded forth on the path with baptism. My comp, Elder Wray, baptized her. It was a good day.

Other things that happened this week were things like exchanges, "blitz" type finding with the district and some good member lessons.

The scripture of the week is D&C 18:24,
"Wherefore, all men must take upon them the name which is given of the Father, for in that name shall they be called at the last day"
I like this one cuz it talks a bit about the covenant of baptism. We take upon ourselves the name of Christ in baptism, and this scripture gives a good little explanation of why the covenant is so important. We should all know the name that saves us, right?

Anyway, thats the rundown. Thanks for reading, have a good week. ¡Adios!
