9/8/24: 1 year in
Hola hola. I've done it people, I've been a set apart missionary for exactly one year today. Kinda crazy. Definitely the fastest and most action/learning packed year of my life. So you could say it's my mission birthday.
This was a solid last week. We had the baptisms of our friends Anahis and Geovanni.
Anahis was a bit of a wait for various reasons. Be it travel, marriage processes, sickness etc. But we did it. Shout out to all the other missionaries who have helped her out before too!
Geovanni was super smooth tho. We found him like less than a month and a half ago and he wanted to get baptized on his birthday! So, we did it on Sunday the 8th. Happy birthday to him. And happy entering-into-a-covenant-with- God-day to him as well. (Rebirth)
We also had Zone Conference this week, it was good. Presidente Camey is a great speaker and always leaves the place impacted with many spiritual impressions. We had a good time.
I'm writing this email a day late cuz we have our Pday today instead of yesterday. Yesterday we were tasked with finding and inviting as many people as we could to watch the broadcast of President Nelson's birthday. I would say it was a success. Happy birthday also to President Nelson. (There are a lot of birthdays this time of year).
The Scripture of the Week is gonna be Alma 22:14, it's a nice brief sum up of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Of course the Atonement of Jesus Christ is eternally impactfull and will never just be summed up in one verse, but I like what Aaron/Mormon have to say in the verse.
"...but the sufferings and death of Christ atone for their sins, through faith and repentance, and so forth..."
Christ's atonement cannot apply for us if we do not let it do anything for us. That's why we have the blessing of repentance! That's why prophets are always telling us to repent.
Anyway, that'll be all for now! Thanks for reading if you did and have a great week!! Adios
